1200 Calorie Mass Gain Shake

Quick, simple and tasty.

One of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to gain mass is an obvious one; not eating enough. It can be especially hard, and often expensive when you're eating satiating whole foods to make up the most of your daily intake. This is where this shake comes in. It's packing a hefty 1000+ cals in a still delicious form. This recipe is from a recent vlog which provides more details on it.

Servings: 1

Prep Time: 1 Minute

Cook Time: 1 Minute

Bulk Ingredients:

  • 400ml milk / milk alternative (dairy for more cals)

  • 120g rolled oats

  • 60g chocolate whey protein

  • 30g nuts / nut butter

  • 1 medium ripe banana

  • 1 large handful of frozen berries

Spices:

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • Panax ginseng powder (optional)

Throw all the ingredients, minus the berries, into a blender (try not to spill them). Try to place the ingredients in an order so that the tougher ones, banana, nuts and oats, are closer to the blades to avoid over-processing the smoother ingredients like powders.

Simply blitz the ingredients to a texture you like. I kind of like to chew my smoothies so blend them minimally.

Once blended to your preferred texture, place into a shaker or container until ready to consume. This can be done as early as the night prior.

Prior to consuming the shake, add the frozen berries to the same shaker/container. They will help reduce the temperature of the shake and add a juicy crunch as well as additional nutrients. Enjoy!
